FAQ
What is the MHC‑SF?
A 14 item measure of positive mental health across three parts: emotional, social, and psychological well‑being. It classifies people as flourishing, moderate, or languishing based on clear rules.
How is it scored?
Each item scores from 0 to 5 (never to every day). Totals: Emotional 0–15, Social 0–25, Psychological 0–30, Overall 0–70.
How are categories decided?
Flourishing: at least one emotional item is 4 or 5 and at least six of the other 11 items are 4 or 5. Languishing: at least one emotional item is 0 or 1 and at least six of the other 11 items are 0 or 1. Others are moderate.
Is it a diagnosis?
No. It is a screen and a well‑being measure. Only a licensed professional can diagnose any condition.
