What It Measures: The HEXACO Model

This test measures the six broad domains of personality, known as the HEXACO model:

  1. Honesty-Humility (H): High scorers are sincere, fair, and modest. Low scorers are deceitful, greedy, and pretentious.
  2. Emotionality (E): High scorers are more fearful, anxious, and sentimental. Low scorers are braver, tougher, and more self-assured.
  3. Extraversion (X): High scorers are outgoing, lively, and sociable. Low scorers are shy, passive, and withdrawn.
  4. Agreeableness (A): High scorers are patient, gentle, and tolerant. Low scorers are ill-tempered, quarrelsome, and stubborn.
  5. Conscientiousness (C): High scorers are organized, disciplined, and diligent. Low scorers are sloppy, lazy, and irresponsible.
  6. Openness to Experience (O): High scorers are curious, creative, and unconventional. Low scorers are more conventional, uncreative, and uninterested in art.

Validity & Reliability

The International Personality Item Pool (IPIP) is a public-domain collection of personality items. This 60-item measure is based on the items used in the development of the HEXACO Personality Inventory-Revised (HEXACO-PI-R).
